Smooth sailing and lots of reading and creating and feeling creative. After work I popped by the light rail station and met M. We headed downtown and he gave me a tour of his new school — classes start for both of us tomorrow. I can’t begin to say how proud I am of him for taking this big leap and keeping such a positive outlook on life.
Wandering the city together as dusk overtook the streets was comforting. Sitting lofted above the vast school book store drinking sodas and catching up, unwinding, togetherness that’s been clouded lately by every. thing. else. in life colliding. We gathered menus from unique restaurants along the way, and wound up in an unassuming diner back near my work that had what turned out to be downright amazing pizza.
I’ve been figuring that the wedding planning process will be easy as long as I’m laid back and realistic, not too controlling, aware of my inherent virgoism perfectionism. It, all of it, has suddenly proven to be challenging to my introverted nature, all the meetings and negotiations and judgment calls.
But there’s perspective in remembering that the most important part of our wedding is the marriage we’re building and the person I’m walking down the aisle to meet. The person who is, among so many other things, always there to catch me as the light rail car jerks unsteadily along its tracks, packed with commuters, standing room only.
